The “Law of Attraction” gained a lot of public popularity from the book “The Secret”. This book made it seem like this law was something few people knew and it was the secret to unlocking everything you’ve ever wanted out of your life. Well I will start by telling you one thing– this isn’t a secret. I’ve come to learn it’s ingrained in our world– as essential and abundant as the air we breathe. The Law of Attraction is happening all around us, you just have to look for it.
I’ve decided I am going to be doing a series on the Law of Attraction since I can’t fit everything into one post. This post will be the absolute basics that you need to know in order to start making conscious changes in your life!
So what is the Law of Attraction? The Law of Attraction is the simple principal that “like attracts like”. What this pertains to is your thoughts– that positive thoughts attract positive in your life and negative thoughts attract negative. The idea is that your thoughts emit sort of as “waves” to the universe and what you send out, you receive. This is the basis of the Law of Attraction, but this is only the beginning. You can think positive thoughts all you want, but you need to be able to do this on a higher level… but it’s easier than you think!
What actually puts this concept into motion is your emotions. It’s the way you feel that sends out these vibrations into the universe to attract what you want. For me, someone who is innately negative, moderately depressed and has a lot of anxiety, I felt as though this would be a difficult feat. In reality, it’s not. Raising your vibration or feeding off of positive emotions and feelings and having that present every day in your life is as easy as self-care. Keeping yourself aware of the things you do that make you feel crappy versus the things that you do that make you feel like you’re on top of the world. For me, tuning into the ways I was feeling in most moments throughout the day helped me turn away from a lot of my depression and anxiety and has been helping me manifest the life I desire and a life I am proud of.
So how do you being using this in your life? I will let you in on another secret– you already use it. Ever thought about something and then all of the sudden it happens? Thought about a person and they give you a call? Or on the other end, worried about something so much that the worst seemed to come to fruition? This is all the Law of Attraction. Those confidences are not coincidences. They were manifested by you and your vibration. I will give you an example in my own life: I started looking for a new job and while I had applied previously and got nowhere, this time I knew I was going to get another job. Not only did I just think these thoughts but I actually felt the joy of getting a new job. I felt confident that what I needed was coming soon. I got an interview very quickly after applying and after the interview, I knew it was mine. A couple hours later, I got the call and I am still at that job. This is how simple the Law of Attraction is. You just need to believe, feel it with positive energy, do not doubt that the universe will deliver and it’s essentially yours.
In the past year I have actually had a lot of fun playing with the Law of Attraction. It’s fun to learn new principals about it and find new ways to channel my energy into attracting what I want. I do this all the time, and since it has been working for me I have felt less depressed, more motivated and just generally happy with my life because I know that through the positive energy I feel every day, the universe is moving to make things happen for me– and it will do the same for you if you give it a try.
This is just the basics– a brief overview. I am going to be posting more specifics in the future about how to get yourself to a place of positive emotions in a technology-driven, past-paced millennial world. I am going to go into synchronicity (the “coincidences” I spoke about earlier), how to move your focus to be more tuned-in to your feelings and emotions and how to let go and let the universe do it’s job. I promise, you’ll be happier for it.
